Job Responsibilities

With us, you will work clinically with people who have somatic illnesses or acquired injuries. You will work in both outpatient and inpatient care at Halland Hospital in Kungsbacka and Varberg.

In your daily work, you will use your psychological skills in meetings with patients and their relatives. The mission consists of supporting patients to live as well as possible, despite the crises that may arise when faced with illness or injury. The patients you meet have transient, chronic, or palliative conditions. The work includes neuropsychological assessments, treatment, support, and guidance.

As a psychologist, you have the opportunity to work in a team with other professionals while a significant part of the work is done independently.

As a psychologist with us, you may use your skills in crisis management, existential conversations, and neuropsychology. The workplace has a wide variety of approaches, such as CBT, psychodynamic therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, and compassion-focused therapy among psychologists and social workers.

About the Workplace

The position is focused on adult patients with somatic diseases who belong to specialized healthcare. We are a total of 10 psychologists and 20 social workers at the three clinics in Halland. In Kungsbacka, there are usually 2 psychologists and 3 social workers, while the Varberg clinic has 4 psychologists and 8 social workers.

The atmosphere is pleasant, and the joy of work is palpable in both Kungsbacka and Varberg, with some employees moving between the locations. Therefore, you will be part of our psychology group, which, together with the hospital social workers, forms the psychology and social work clinics in both Kungsbacka and Varberg. The operation belongs to the Rehabilitation Clinic, which has a good collaboration with all clinics providing patient services within somatic healthcare in Kungsbacka, Varberg, and Halmstad.

Qualifications

You who are applying are a licensed psychologist, preferably with experience in somatic healthcare and experience in neuropsychological assessments.

As a person, you have the ability to build trusting relationships and collaborate with both patients, relatives, and colleagues. You appreciate and contribute to a joyful work environment, are flexible in your working methods, and have an interest in working cross-professionally. You are secure in your professional role and have good empathetic abilities. We place great importance on personal suitability.
